Bulahdelah

TRAVEL through ancient coastal forests to Alum Mountain.  See long sandy beaches, lakes, rugged headlands, and the twin coastal villages of Tea Gardens-Hawks Nest linked by the ‘Singing Bridge’. First stop is Main Beach with spectacular views out to Broughton Island & ancient Yacaaba Head. Then loop to stunning Jimmys Beach & across to Winda Woppa point. Past Hawks Nest, into the National Park past huge sand dunes rolling down to the Pacific. Morning tea is provided. Tour to Bombah Point & onto the ferry across The Broadwater. We land in Bulahdelah against a backdrop of soaring native forests to hunt for the Worimi 'bakuwi' or totems carved into ancient trees. Bulahdelah is an Aboriginal Place in recognition of its cultural, spiritual & historical significance to the Worimi people. Its imposing rocky tors are important to the Traditional Owners of the land. Next it is time for a delicious pub lunch option at the historic Plough Inn Hotel built in 1862 (purchase own meal & drinks) then back to Tea Gardens!
